Understanding the experience of patients during electronic health record system changes is integral to maintaining a high quality of care during transition. Additionally, quickly recognizing patient-identified opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions can help to support clinicians and staff during transitions. We report results from a survey of patients on their experiences at an academic medical center during early stages of an electronic health record migration.
