The Precision in Symptom Self-Management (PriSSM) Center is advancing the science of symptom self-management, drawing on data science techniques. In the absence of competencies to assess knowledge needed for research at this intersection we used existing sources and expert opinion to develop a nine item assessment. We compared assessments of Center personnel from 2016 (baseline) to 2017. Further refinement of this knowledge set can inform competency development and educational offerings.
