Description

In the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) rich data sources are accessible using the VA Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW). Despite available data and computing resources, researchers still face significant challenges when undertaking a research project. A more efficient model may involve fostering greater collaborative interaction between informaticians, clinician researchers, statisticians, and data stewards. We propose a new paradigm in the way Biomedical Informatics research is conducted in the VA focusing on informatics-centric approaches.

Learning Objective 1: Understand how a new model for Biomedical Informatics research has been applied successfully in the Deparment of Veterans Affairs.
