Description

We designed a prototype of a Healthy Coping mobile app for seniors aged 70 and older with diabetes. The app includes three core features of Healthy Coping: physical exercise, personal/social activity, and mood. Via a multi-step review process, the physical exercise and personal/social activity lists were tailored for the older patients. We chose the short form of the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) for tracking mood of the diabetes patients.

Learning Objective 1: Understand exercise and activity lists from current diabetes apps are not suitable for seniors with diabetes.

Learning Objective 2: Learn how to conduct research process to develop the tailored exercise and activity lists for seniors with diabetes.
