Situation Awareness (SA) is recognized as an important factor in human-system interaction and errors in healthcare. Efforts have been made to develop interventions to address loss of SA. This review of SA literature aims to investigate the existing interventions to address SA loss, their characteristics and to recommend areas where further development may be required.
Learning Objective 1: To understand the literature on situation awareness and the interventions that address loss of situation awareness in healthcare provision.
Learning Objective 2: To investigate the characteristics of loss of situation awareness and interventions with the intent to identify gaps that may exist.
