Description

Abstract Body: Biomedical researchers are increasingly using data from electronic health records to define the natural history of treated disease, predict patient outcomes, identify adverse effects of treatments, and design and test new approaches to helping patient get and stay healthy. Yet medical data are sensitive, can be stigmatizing, and can have social and economic consequences. ACMI fellows will debate the following proposal: “Biomedical researchers should have access to patient data without their consent.”
