Description

The Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) is a non-invasive test widely used to diagnose patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). The ABI value is frequently recorded in the clinical text of a patient’s electronic medical record. This poster describes a natural language processing (NLP) system for the automatic extraction of ABI values from clinical text.

Learning Objective 1: Readers will be able to describe possible use of natural language processing systems for the cohort identification
